Both a province as a city in Andalusia, Sevilla is one of the beloved places by visitors to South of Spain. Sevilla is one of the largest historical centers in Europe, Andalusia was under the influence of the Moors for more than 800 years and the visitors can really feel today this Arabic influence passing through the city. Écija is a city located in the Andalusian countryside, 95 km from Seville. The town is famous for the magnificent baroque churches and also the splendid houses which date back to the 18th century when the local nobility bought homes in the town. The city offers the visitor many opportunities to see historical buildings such as the two towers of the Santa Maria church and the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista. The Museo Histórico Municipal has a fine collection of artifacts.
In the 18th century, the Moorish took the town Estepa. In the early 19th century, the hills around Estepa were occupied by bandits. Today the inhabitants still think the mountains are haunted by the ghosts of those brutal men.
