Punta Umbría

Punta Umbría is a town with a long beach, in the Province of Huelva, during summer it’s the most popular place and the closest beach to Huelva City.

Visitors will discover gorgeous beaches, one of the most beautiful place to be is the Playa La Mata Negra, lined with many restaurants and bars.

The Paseo de la Ría and Calle Ancha are the busiest pedestrianised and main shopping streets, there is a good choice of bars and restaurants to taste the great local seafood, especially in April during the town's local Festival de la Chirla y la Coquina.

Don’t miss the 15m high Torre de la Umbría a watch tower built in 1614 to defend the city from North Africans pirats. If the pirats were cruising along the coast, a fire would be lit on top of the tower to send out a warning signal.
