Nerja is a very pretty, and still relatively undeveloped corner of Spain. It is located at the foot of the Sierra Tejera , on tall precipices high above the sea. Here you will still find typical white-washed Andaluz houses adorned with geraniums, complete with the cobbled streets in the old town.
Nerja is a lively town though with many nice restaurants, tapas bars and an interesting nightlife scene.
The town has a very long history, dating all the way back to the Paleolithic age. Today, with the discovery of the Nerja caves and its rich treasure trove of antiquity, Nerja quickly became one of the leading tourist spots in Spain.
