Matalascañas

It used to be a fishing village, today is one of the most popular resort of the Costa de la Luz. The Matalascañas beach is nearby the Parque Nacional de Donaña an impressive wildlife reserve.

The Playa de Castilla is the longest beach of the province of Huelva (40kms) and has excellent facilities including lifeguards, showers, hire of parasols and deckchairs.

During summer the lovers of nature can explore on foot the large, newly protected area of sand dunes called Parque Dunar and enter in the Museo Mundo Marino (Museum of Marine Life), which provides interesting informations about the dunes and sealife.

If you want to discover this area, don’t forget to book in advance, because most of the places to stay will be full during summer, especially in August.
