Salobreña has great facilities for sports enthusiasts. There is a nine-hole golf course called Campo de los Moriscos, situated on the east side of the town, and a local sports complex offering tennis, basketball, football and other sport activities.

There are around 140 kilometers of local walks ranging from one to seven hours to keep hikers and nature lovers satisfied. Detailed leaflets and maps can be obtained from the tourist information office.

There are very popular day trips that include entrance and tour of the Generalife Gardens and the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada located 45 minutes from Salobreña. Also located a short drive away is Sierra Nevada which is Spain’s most southerly ski resort.

It is possible to explore and enjoy the extraordinarily beautiful mountain villages of the Alpujarras on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada. This place was the last stronghold of the Moorish invaders who hid in these mountains for more than 100 years.
