Wildlife parks
In the mountainous regions, there are numerous wildlife parks that feature nature trails. These are the Área de recreo de la Cumbre del Calamorro (“Summit of the Calamorro Recreation Area”), Plan de Senderos (“Footpaths”), Sendero de la Mina de la Trinidad (“Footpaths of the Trinidad Mine”), Sendero de los Cazadores (“Footpath of the Hunters”), Sendero de los Lenadores (“Footpath of the Woodcutters”). All these locations feature networks of footpaths up and around the mountainous regions, with rest areas and panoramic viewpoints throughout. The viewpoints offer a spectacular view of the low lying surrounding areas. Also located at the summit of Mount Calamorro is an aviary dedicated to the care and breeding of eagles, hawks, and other species of birds of prey.
Centro Náutico
For maritime pleasures, there’s the Centro Náutico (“Nautical Centre”) that is dedicated to water sports and nautical activities. The Centre features meeting rooms, assembly halls, a marine tavern and bar and docks and enclosures for various types of sea-going vehicles.
Selwo Marina
This marina offers a different type of attraction, featuring mainly marine mammals and marine birds from South America. Marine Selwo offers a glimpse into their natural habitat and behaviour. Must-see is the penguins and dolphins at Selwo Marina.
Sea Life
The Sea Life Centre features undersea walkways that allow visitors full, unrestricted views of the underwater environment and wildlife. The featured wildlife includes natural predators like sharks, exotic fish like stingrays, octopuses, eels, and sea turtles. The Sea Life Centre also has amenities such as a terrace bar with a splendid view of the harbour and a adventurous “pirate” mini golf course with a marine life theme. There are regular feeding demonstrations and exhibitions as well. Sea Life Centre is also a marine wildlife preservation centre. Sick and injured marine animals are taken care of and nursed back to health here. There is also a breeding program that breeds select species for reintroduction into the open seas.
Golf
Benalmádena Costa features a full, 18-hole golf course. It is a world class course that is suited for all types of competitions and it attracts hundreds of players every year.
Equestrian centre
The equestrian centre of Benalmádena covers a total land area of 25,000 square meters of natural surroundings and offers excellent views of the sea and the surrounding mountains. The course also features tennis courts, swimming pools and saunas and many kinds of golf related facilities.
Tivoli World
The Tivoli World is the biggest amusement park in the entire Costa del Sol. This is the world renowned park with over 300 varieties of rides. There’s also an open air theatre that features live music, traditional dances like the flamenco and many other delights. A new section called Tivoliandia has been added, offering over 11 rides for children.
