Jaén
| Like most andalucian cities and towns Jaén was passed over several different civilizations and cultures starting with the Phoenicians and Roman to finally end up in the Muslim dominion. Today Jaén is the capital of Jaén province and it s one of the largest cities in this province as well. It s rich past left behind many magnificent monuments, museums and stories that reveal to us the exciting history about this part of Spain.

| Jaén is located almost in the centre of the Jaén province. The name derived from the Arabic word “yayyan” which means crossroads of caravans. Jaén today is the industry central of the Jaén province and has factories ranging from food, textile, chemical and distilleries. Jaén is also the world’s leader in production of olive oil and is also know as the world capital of olive oil.
