There are several noteworthy buildings in the main square, Plaza Mayor. Other noteworthy buildings include the Church of the Convent de Nuestra Señora de la Victoria or de Mínimos (1605), the Royal Hospital of San Agustín (19th century) which replaced the same named building founded by Charles 1 of Spain himself (1521), and the Hermitage de Nuestra Señora de las Huertas, built on the fringes of Vera to the people of Lorca whom the locals are indebted for their help in liberating Vera from the siege of 1569 by Moorish troops.

Still others include the Hermitage de la Virgen de las Angustias (19th century) that houses the patron saint of Vera. The Plaza de Toros (Bullring) on the Garrucha road is relatively a more recent structure constructed in 1879 in the Mudejar style and restored in1993. Every 25th of September, the fiesta in honor of patron Saint Cleofas is held, a day devoted to bullfights.

Built as a fort to protect against the frequent Moorish raids, the Church de la Encarnación (1520), flanked by four great towers, housed inside are marvelous altarpieces, remarkable in their architecture. Further to the left of the church is the Ayuntamiento (town hall). The town hall was erected in the 16th century and subsequently renovated in the 18th century. On the lower floor, the Ethnographic and Archaeological Museum can be found. The museum formerly was the barracks of civil guard. There are impressive showcases on history, folklore and local traditions. The municipal archives are also contained and registered in the town hall.
