The Arabian style castle on top of one of its hills is not only a popular tourist site for its panoramic view but also for the great historical value it holds. In the past it was used as a fortress and today it is a milestone of a town that continues to flourish under the Spanish sun.
Iglesia de la Encarnacion has one of Andalucia’s most significant museums. This, and the other imposing structures in Olvera that have historical value, earned the town its title as Centre for Arts and History which was award by the government in 1983.
