This parish is of Renaissance-Gothic inspirations of the 16th century. It houses many artifacts that belong to the town.
Originally a fortress of the Ponce de Leon’s, it became a monastery over the centuries.
In addition to what has been said about this lighthouse, it stands about 69 meters high on the same spot where it was constructed during the Roman times, and its light so bright, that on a less cloudy day, it can be seen from Portugal!
