Mosaics
Along the promenade that stretches from the Bil Bil Castle to the Marina , you will see an amazing variety of mosaics done by different artists. The styles and materials vary greatly, with some artists using a ceramic finish, while others opted for metal, wood or natural stone. This outdoor exhibition is the result of the Plan of Local Art Development, encouraging local artists to add beauty to the area by expressing their art in this way.
Museo Arqueologico
In the Archaeological Museum a very interesting collection of Neolithic and pre-Columbian pieces are exhibited. It also showcases historical bits of Benalmádena that date back to the Palaeolithic and the Roman periods. There is also an international library in the main urban area.
Bil Bil castle
The Bil Bil castle is of Arabic architecture, marked by red plastering of the exterior and bas-reliefs and tiles that demonstrate exquisite traditional Muslim culture.
Centro de Exposiciones de Benalmádena
The Centro de Exposiciones de Benalmádena (Centre of Exhibitions of Benalmádena) is a museum that visitors should not fail to visit. It features a wide range of painting and sculpture.
Parque de la Paloma
In the main urban area, one can find the Parque de la Paloma (“Park of the Dove”). This is the only urban park in the entire Costa del Sol, and features an artificial lake inhabited by ducks, pelicans, turtles, and other wildlife species, and also parrots, rabbits, goats, and ewes elsewhere in the park.
Castillo de Colomares
Costa is the Castillo de Colomares (“Castle of Colomares”) is a monument dedicated to Cristobal Colon and his arrival in the New World. The castle is a tribute to the discovery of America and exhibits a variety of architectural and artistic styles.
