This is the finest palace in Baeza and now it’s a school for theology. Its façade clearly shows the Moorish presence in the past. Next to the palace is the cathedral which like most of the churches from the 16th century has the typical painted iron windows.
This is one of the most important monuments in the city of Baeza that dates back to the 16th century. The most significant and well known part of the university is the square. From the years 1912-1919 the modernist poet Antonio Machado taught in this university and it is believed that one of his most remarkable works “Juan de Mairena”was inspired by his experience in Baeza.
In the center of Baeza lies the Plaza Mayor. This plaza is actually consisted of two other plazas - Plaza de la Constucion from one side and Plaza de España from the other. In the passage next to this square are situated most of the cafés and bars.
An appealing square surrounded by Renaissance buildings. It is being said that on the rounded balcony on this square the first Mass of the Reconquest has been celebrated.
