Cádiz

Cádiz was founded in 1100 BC by the Phoenicians who called it Gadir. They traded Baltic amber and British tin, as well as Spanish silver. The city subsequently became a naval base for the Romans before fading into obscurity until 1262 when it was taken from the Muslims by Alfonso X. The old, central quarter of Cádiz is famous for its picturesque charm, and many of the buildings reflect the city’s overseas links.

Algodonales is a town located in the Cadiz province, close to Malaga. With a current population of about 5,800, this town is blessed to be on the route of Guadalete River while sitting on the foot of the Lijar Mountains. The sport of Hang-gliding is available from the surrounding Lijar Mountains; it offers gliders a beautiful view of the white town houses and the several churches in the town.

Imagine a backdrop of pine groves while you bask under the sun, on the beach, and outstretch before you, the blue waters, tempting you for a swim, and on your lips a glass of Spain’s best wine… This is all possible in small towns such as el Puerto de Santa Maria, which is considered to be one of the main attractions in Andalucia. Prado del Rey has the reputation of having warm citizen and breathtaking environment. Summer is full with fun and excitement, from concerts to dance events and parties.

Zahara belongs to the group of villages and small towns in the Cádiz province in Andalucia called “Pueblos Blancos”, or white villages, because of the fact that most houses in the town are white. It is a small fishing village on the Costa de la Luz. As the name al-Zahar implies the streets are lined with orange trees.
