Benaocaz is located south of the Tavizna river in the northeastern part of Cadiz, at the foot of the Sierra del Endrinal.
Benaocaz’s main sources of income are mainly agriculture and stockbreeding. It is very rich in cattle and has become famous for the mean products that are produced here.
Benaocaz was founded by the Arabs and conquered by the Christians in 1485 and shortly after it was turned over to Rodrigo Ponce de León as part of his family’s territory. Nowadays Benaocaz has still kept its Arabian spirit especially in the streets of Ave Maria and Progreso.
