Algodonales
Algodonales is a town located in the Cadiz province, close to Malaga. With a current population of about 5,800, this town is blessed to be on the route of Guadalete river while sitting on the foot of the Lijar mountains.
For adventurous travelers, the sport of Hang-gliding is available from the surrounding Lijar mountains, offering gliders a beautiful view of the white town houses and the several churches in the town: the Ermita de Jesús Nazareno, the Ermita de la Concepción, the Ermita de la Virgencita and the Iglesia Parroquial de Santa Ana.

Several restaurants flourish in the town, and it is recommended that all Algodonales travelers try the exceptional Asparagus served in most of these restos. As to transportation, daily coach service is available with Cadiz City and Ronda in the neighbor province of Malaga.
Through the centuries, Algodonales survived as a dominant agricultural industry, with its rich fields ideal for the cultivation of apple and olive trees. A substantial stock breeding commerce is also in place.
Famous handicrafts in production from Algodonales are the Spanish guitars, not only worth buying but also worth the trip to see the craftsmen create them.
